The sun came up this morning, we cruised back to Hollandale, and settled back into a normal routine already by talking only about football and hunting.
I can’t thank all my supporters enough for your votes. It’s very humbling to think about fine people from all over the state, most of whom you’ve never met, learning about you and then deciding to vote for you. I’m eternally grateful.
I especially can’t thank those enough who donated to my campaign, and those who opened their homes to host a fundraiser. We will never forget you.
Thanks to all texted, emailed, called, posted on social media, etc. on my behalf.
Ours was a true grassroots campaign.
This goes for all my friends and supporters during my 4 terms in the Senate too.
In my first term someone told me about how politics, from a candidate perspective, will reveal who your real friends are. This is very true and I’m proud to have some of the best friends a guy could hope to have. Legislators, Capitol employees, agency employees, lobbyists, and just good folks you meet as a result of being in office. During these years I’ve made some life long friendships.
Then there are those who you thought were your friends and.......well, let’s just say this is what that guy was trying to tell me in my first term.
God bless Mississippi.
Please drop by if you’re ever around Hollandale. ... See MoreSee Less
Buck, it was a great run and your supporters admire you and Paula so much. Just spend this time with family and grow in this life experiences you have gained.
Thank you for your excellent service to Mississippi. This was a disappointing loss and we hope to see your name on a ballot again.
Hardy Mitchell and I are so proud of you. You did an amazing job representing MS. It is certainly a loss for Mississippi!! You were by far the most qualified. You are above reproach and a True gentleman always!!! Praying for you and Paula as you regroup. Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do for Mississippi!!! Hugs!!!
We voted for you! You have been a true Mississippi statesman. You are the example of how things are suppose to work in our state government. Enjoy your time till you can run again! 👏👏
Thanks for what you have done for Mississippians!
Thanks for trying, you are a winner in my book.
Buck I was so surprised that you lost- you are totally qualified and so many people that I know voted for you. You and Paula will be fine because God has great plans for you. Love, Rita & Sam.
Buck, you were one of the good ones. I lost and it hurt my feelings for about three days and I got my first retirement check and the feeling went away
We are proud of you Buck for your dedicated service to the State of Mississippi. Politics,as you know, is a crazy game.
Buck, Curtis and I have been thinking about you and appreciate all the good work that you have done over the years for Mississippi and our area. God bless you!
You’re a true friend, Buck, to so many and to Mississippi. You were certainly the most qualified. Sorry some cared more about getting their friend in office than the best man and best qualified. But I believe it will all work for the better for you and your family, especially in the long run.
You’re the best of the best! Thank you for all you have done for our great state and the Delta.
All the best! A great man, steadfast in values and integrity! A race well run! Thanks for 16 years! Blessings!
So sorry and you will be so missed!
Job well done and I hope you are not finish yet.... we need you!!!!🇺🇸
Proud of you Mr Clarke and was a pleasure meeting you in Oxford.
You have been a great asset to our state and your leadership will be missed. Don’t be a stranger!!!
Mr. Chairman, Thanks for your leadership and good work for the people in your district and all Mississippians.
Buck, I am a true believer in everything happens for a reason. Even though God put this bump in your roads, his plans for you were written before you were born and I can’t help but believe he has a bigger and brighter path for you. My family and I were definitely pulling for you and we will be there for you again. Tell Paula hello for me.
Buck , this loss broke my heart. At Prayer meeting lunch today at FBC, it seemed as if everyone felt bad for you since you were the only one qualified. I hope you are not through with politics 🙏🙏💔
Mississippi’s loss for you sure are the most qualified to be our Treasurer! Yes life goes on and get some much needed rest!
You are the better man -both for the job and in everything you do. It is Mississippi’s loss. We hope to see you both soon ❤️.
Sad about the Outcome. You were definitely most qualified. Welcome home. Praying for you during this transition. 🙌🏻
Thanks for all you have done for our State. You should be proud.
We appreciate all your service to our state!
I only hope that young Mr. McRae will be as loyal and dedicated to our state as you are. Thanks for your service and may God Bless you and your family.
While the results weren’t in our favor, I’m proud of the race we ran. Congratulations to David McRae for Mississippi Treasurer on his election. I will, of course, support all Republicans this November. ... See MoreSee Less

So sorry Buck and Paula. But I am so proud of both of you for all the hard work.
I appreciate getting to know you over the past few years and how much you and your office helped me understand the state budget when you were in the legislature. I wish you the very best in whatever comes next.
So proud of you my friend!
I am proud of you and Hollandale is proud of you! 💓
Congratulations on the manner in which you conducted yourself during this race!
I know the pain of losing the election, having experienced it with my girls’ father, Bob Jones when he ran the same race in the 60’s. It was a good experience in many ways, getting across our state in areas unknown previously and meeting so many nice people. My heart goes out to y’all.❤️
Hollandale and I am so proud of you and Paula! Thank you for working so hard to serve our State!
I know there will be other opportunities for you!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I’m sad to read this. You ran a clean campaign and had the best political commercial! There will be another opportunity. #KeepTheJacket🇺🇸
Well, sorry it didn't go our way. You ran a great campaign, and our state is better for it.
Sorry for your loss but you ran a good, clean race. I know you will continue to continue to do a lot for our state.
So sorry Buck and Paula! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication !
So sorry you didn’t make it, Buck, but you still have a lot to give and Mississippi will be fortunate if you find a way to contribute outside of elective office. At least for the next four years...
We voted for you Buck, here in Tupelo. Good luck to you and best wishes for you and your family.
I voted for you, Buck !
Voted proudly here in Tupelo, and still sending out calls and reminders. My 83 year old daddy reminds everyone he sees to vote for you! Ran into Murray Estess at our precinct, and we're thankful for you and praying for good results!
I loved your saying....you send bucks to the state, send this Buck and I’ll take care of it.....or something of that sort
Best of luck!
We voted for you Buck!!!
I wanted you to win so much...
I voted for you and friends did too
I voted. Cast my vote for Buck Clarke. ☑️
Only 13 hours remaining until the polls open tomorrow morning! What an amazing campaign season it has been. Since I announced in December of last year, I have been on the road asking Mississippians like you for their vote. So when you are casting your ballot tomorrow, please take a moment to pray and remember those who have sacrificed everything for us to have this right. This country is great because brave men and women have died so that we can choose our leaders. Voting is a right, but it is also our duty. I ask you to honor these heroes by casting your ballot tomorrow. I hope I can continue to serve our great state as our next Treasurer! #onemorebuck ... See MoreSee Less
