The sun came up this morning, we cruised back to Hollandale, and settled back into a normal routine already by talking only about football and hunting.
I can’t thank all my supporters enough for your votes. It’s very humbling to think about fine people from all over the state, most of whom you’ve never met, learning about you and then deciding to vote for you. I’m eternally grateful.
I especially can’t thank those enough who donated to my campaign, and those who opened their homes to host a fundraiser. We will never forget you.
Thanks to all texted, emailed, called, posted on social media, etc. on my behalf.
Ours was a true grassroots campaign.
This goes for all my friends and supporters during my 4 terms in the Senate too.
In my first term someone told me about how politics, from a candidate perspective, will reveal who your real friends are. This is very true and I’m proud to have some of the best friends a guy could hope to have. Legislators, Capitol employees, agency employees, lobbyists, and just good folks you meet as a result of being in office. During these years I’ve made some life long friendships.
Then there are those who you thought were your friends and.......well, let’s just say this is what that guy was trying to tell me in my first term.
God bless Mississippi.
Please drop by if you’re ever around Hollandale. ... See MoreSee Less
Thanks for all you have done for our State. You should be proud.
We voted for you! You have been a true Mississippi statesman. You are the example of how things are suppose to work in our state government. Enjoy your time till you can run again! 👏👏
Sorry about the way the election turned out. You've done a great job. I guess a lot of voters didn't recognize this fact. Thanks again for your service.
Thank you for your excellent service to Mississippi. This was a disappointing loss and we hope to see your name on a ballot again.
Mr. Chairman, Thanks for your leadership and good work for the people in your district and all Mississippians.
Hardy Mitchell and I are so proud of you. You did an amazing job representing MS. It is certainly a loss for Mississippi!! You were by far the most qualified. You are above reproach and a True gentleman always!!! Praying for you and Paula as you regroup. Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do for Mississippi!!! Hugs!!!
Your experience and knowledge is something MS can't do without. If your phone isn't already ringing off the hook with offers for roles in public service, it will be soon. Thanks for all you've done and for what you will do.
Buck , this loss broke my heart. At Prayer meeting lunch today at FBC, it seemed as if everyone felt bad for you since you were the only one qualified. I hope you are not through with politics 🙏🙏💔
Proud of you for serving the State of MS. A true servant.
Thanks for what you have done for Mississippians!
Buck, you had my vote and my husband Jay Stigler’s vote. We are disappointed you did not win.
I am so sorry that things did not work out. I know you would have made a great Treasurer. There were a lot of people who were pulling for you. Take care!
Thanks for trying, you are a winner in my book.
Buck I was so surprised that you lost- you are totally qualified and so many people that I know voted for you. You and Paula will be fine because God has great plans for you. Love, Rita & Sam.
It was Mississippi’s lost...because you are the most qualified for the job! God will Bless you and your family! Welcome home!
Thanks Buck for your service and for helping Leland with our new fire truck 🚒🚒🚒
Senator Clark, I am sorry that you lost your bid to become State Treasurer, but you have done a good job for the State of Mississippi serving as a State Senator. I wish you the best in the next chapter of your life.
So sorry over the results. You and Paula did your best and loved seeing you campaigning all over the state. This is Mississippi’s loss. Evidently God had something very important that He needs you to do for Him. ❤️
So sorry and shocked. You were the most qualified. Come back to the senate
Reading your words reminds me exactly why my family was bold and proud to support you, and that decision has been affirmed many times throughout the course of this campaign. My son told me this morning that he heard an expression that "Money is the mother's milk of politics.", and sadly that is often true. It just makes me sick to the core that a job as important as our state's treasurer can be bought, and that qualification for the job is not a consideration to so many people. I agree with you, politics reveals true character and exposes genuine loyalty, or lack of... You are such an honorable public servant, and Mississippi is a better place because of your leadership and your service. Dad and I look forward to seeing you in the future!
Buck, I am a true believer in everything happens for a reason. Even though God put this bump in your roads, his plans for you were written before you were born and I can’t help but believe he has a bigger and brighter path for you. My family and I were definitely pulling for you and we will be there for you again. Tell Paula hello for me.
Buck, it was a great run and your supporters admire you and Paula so much. Just spend this time with family and grow in this life experiences you have gained.
Thank you for all your years service to our state, Buck! Mississippi government needs more men like you.
Buck, you were one of the good ones. I lost and it hurt my feelings for about three days and I got my first retirement check and the feeling went away
You are a good man Buck Clarke!
Thank you for your willingness to serve!
While the results weren’t in our favor, I’m proud of the race we ran. Congratulations to David McRae for Mississippi Treasurer on his election. I will, of course, support all Republicans this November. ... See MoreSee Less
Thank you, Buck for offering to take on this position!! We need good folks like you in public office!!
I voted for you and I to will vote conservative in the fall.
I’m sad to read this. You ran a clean campaign and had the best political commercial! There will be another opportunity. #KeepTheJacket🇺🇸
What a class act you and Paula are!! Best wishes in your future endeavors that I hope will continue to be in public service.
👍👍 State senate will miss you as miss
I know the pain of losing the election, having experienced it with my girls’ father, Bob Jones when he ran the same race in the 60’s. It was a good experience in many ways, getting across our state in areas unknown previously and meeting so many nice people. My heart goes out to y’all.❤️
You had my vote. Thanks for running a dignified race.
So sorry you didn’t make it, Buck, but you still have a lot to give and Mississippi will be fortunate if you find a way to contribute outside of elective office. At least for the next four years...
Hollandale and I am so proud of you and Paula! Thank you for working so hard to serve our State!
I know there will be other opportunities for you!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Well, sorry it didn't go our way. You ran a great campaign, and our state is better for it.

We voted for you Buck!!!
We voted for you Buck, here in Tupelo. Good luck to you and best wishes for you and your family.
I loved your saying....you send bucks to the state, send this Buck and I’ll take care of it.....or something of that sort
Voted proudly here in Tupelo, and still sending out calls and reminders. My 83 year old daddy reminds everyone he sees to vote for you! Ran into Murray Estess at our precinct, and we're thankful for you and praying for good results!
Best of luck!
I voted for you, Buck !
I voted for you and friends did too
Only 13 hours remaining until the polls open tomorrow morning! What an amazing campaign season it has been. Since I announced in December of last year, I have been on the road asking Mississippians like you for their vote. So when you are casting your ballot tomorrow, please take a moment to pray and remember those who have sacrificed everything for us to have this right. This country is great because brave men and women have died so that we can choose our leaders. Voting is a right, but it is also our duty. I ask you to honor these heroes by casting your ballot tomorrow. I hope I can continue to serve our great state as our next Treasurer! #onemorebuck ... See MoreSee Less
